Pile: Low Pile
Details: This is a 50 year old handmade vintage Western Anatolian rug. The region it was made in it is called Isparta, however due to the resemblence of their coloring and style to Oushak rugs these types of low pile rugs with light coloring are commonly called Oushak type rugs in our present day design literature. The rug takes the design from the famous 'Khotan' rugs of China. Design is simple yet sophisticated with repeating symmetrical designs on a tan field and a jade border embellished with stylized flower motifs.
